Long1We visited Crawford W. Long Middle School today.  Principal Lisa Hill toured the school with us and it was exciting to see students and teachers engaged in learning, using mathematics manipulative and interactive technology.

It was especially exciting to see students responding to the teacher and problems on the interactive board using hand-held ActiVotes which allowed every student to share his or her answer with classmates and the teacher on the interactive board.

LongLong has a student population of 600 students and Principal Hill has called this school home for four years.  The school feeds into the South Atlanta High School Learning Complex and is named after Crawford Williamson Long, renowned surgeon and pharmacist.

The school boasts an organic garden created with a grant from the Atlanta Families’ Award for Excellence in Education.  The garden helps to teach students sustainability and promote healthy eating choices.

Have a great year Long Middle staff and students!
